About the Role
We are seeking a Business Support Administrator to join our clients dynamic team (until November 2025) and provide high-quality administrative support to Social Work and Trust staff. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient processes, accurate record-keeping, and timely support to achieve the best outcomes for children, young people, and families.
As a Business Support Administrator, you will be an administrative specialist in one of the following areas:
- Team Support
- Contact and Reception
- Legal Clerk
- Financial Administration
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive administrative support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Organise and document meetings, including those involving sensitive information.
- Handle incoming queries via phone, email, and in person, ensuring professional communication.
- Maintain secure and accurate records, databases, and filing systems.
- Process financial and business-related administrative tasks following relevant procedures.
- Support front-line reception services, offering excellent customer service.
- Ensure office equipment is maintained and report any issues as needed.
- Work flexibly to meet the service's needs, ensuring efficiency and professionalism.
- Adhere to statutory regulations, including GDPR and health & safety policies.
Key Requirements
Essential:
- 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including English and Maths, or equivalent qualification/experience (NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration).
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Good basic IT skills.
- Experience handling and processing both manual and computerised information.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and ensure accuracy and timely outputs.
- Effective time management, prioritisation, and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work with discretion and confidentiality, particularly in sensitive situations.
- Commitment to teamwork, flexibility, and covering for colleagues when required.
- A clear understanding and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Desirable:
- Certificate in keyboarding.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Experience working in local government, children’s services, or a similar environment.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
