Are you a School Administrator looking for new position?

GSL Education are seeking an experienced Administrator/Receptionist to work in and around in a school within the Birmingham area in September. You should have strong administration skills and experience working with SIMS or in a similar sector. However, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and quickly adapt to a new environment are equally important. This is a temporary position that requires you to work on weekdays from 8am to 4pm. You may also be offered a permanent contract within the school, although there is not guarantee.

Responsibilities as a School Administrator

  • Perform general office duties, including filing, photocopying, and ordering supplies.
  • Able to answer the phones and take messages, able to make phone calls to parents with any feedback required.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the school leadership team, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Manage and maintain the school's SIMS database, ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of student records.
  • Handle enquiries from parents, students, and external agencies, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate student admissions, including processing applications, maintaining waiting lists, and organizing admissions events.
  • Assist with the organization and execution of school events, meetings, and activities.
  • Manage student attendance records, including tracking absences and generating reports.
  • Prepare and distribute school communications, such as newsletters, letters, and emails.
  • Maintain and update administrative systems and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures, particularly regarding data protection and safeguarding.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a UK School is essential.
  • Extensive experience with SIMS (School Information Management System) is essential or similar.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and data protection regulations in schools.

Must have:

•                 Hold a right to work within the UK

•                 Enhanced DBS Child and Adult Check – Must be on the update service. (We can assist you with a DBS if you do not have one)

•                 2x Educational References are a must in order to clear your file with GSL.
