With a strong pipeline of work, particularly withinEducation, Retail, Leisure and Commercial, they are looking to add an experiencedDesign Managerto their team.

The Role

As aDesign Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to project completion. You will work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with client specifications and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the design processacross multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery of design information.
  • Coordinating witharchitects, consultants, and subcontractorsto resolve design issues and optimise project outcomes.
  • Reviewing and managingtechnical drawings, specifications, and design documentationto ensure compliance with building regulations and client requirements.
  • Supporting the pre-construction and bid teams by providingtechnical input and design solutionsduring tender stages.
  • Ensuring value engineering opportunities are explored without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Liaising withlocal councils, housing associations, and regulatory bodiesto ensure project approval and adherence to planning requirements.
  • Attending and leadingdesign coordination meetingswith project teams and stakeholders.
  • Managing design risks and ensuring anydesign changesare effectively communicated and implemented.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as aDesign Managerwithin amain contractorenvironment.
  • Excellent understanding ofUK building regulations, planning requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Ability tocoordinate multidisciplinary teamsand drive collaboration between consultants and project teams.
  • Experience working on projects up to10Min value.
  • Proficiency indesign management software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving design challenges.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders effectively.
