RM Recruit are excited to be working with a dynamic and growing organisation based in central Birmingham who are on the lookout for a focused, well-articulated Bookkeeper to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis working 36 hours per week. Our client can offer a flexible, hybrid working arrangement with the office presence set at three times per week and two days working from home.

You will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Prepare VAT returns and liaise with HMRC when required.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Provide support to the wider finance team as and when necessary.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Excellent work ethic with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced finance setting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero, or IRIS Financials) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (AAT or ACCA) are desirable but not essential.
