A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Category Analyst to join a brilliant client of ours who are one of the UK leading manufacturers in their field on a full time, permanent basis.

As a Category Analyst, you'll delve deep into market data, uncovering insights that drive strategic decisions. Your role involves analysing trends, and sales data to identify growth opportunities and optimize product assortments.

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £35,000 - £37,000

Job type: Full time, permanent opportunity - Monday to Friday (08:30 – 16:30)Hybrid working model which offers 2/3 days remote working.

The role:

  • Updating, maintaining and development of weekly, monthly and quarterly category reports working closely with our key insight and data partners.
  • Analyse, interpret and present data.
  • Analyse customer specific sale data (EPOS) and distribution data to identify opportunities for targeted sales activity.
  • Prepare Weekly & Monthly reports in Excel and PowerPoint, communicating and distributing these insights across the business
  • Develop and deliver insight presentations for internal and external meetings as required
  • Bring new thinking and ideas how the business best communicates data and insight from multiple sources.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in category management.
  • Evaluate the performance of each strategy.
  • Build Strong relationships with the commercial team 

The ideal candidate:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey insights
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other departments
  • Adept to identifying challenges, developing solutions, and implementing strategies
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and integrate learning from multiple sources and see connections in data trends to generate insight.
  • High level of computer literacy (Excel & PowerPoint)
  • A strong attention to detail and curious by nature
