An excellent opportunity has arisen for a recent graduate to join a highly commercial, data-driven business function focusing on risk model governance, reporting, and strategy development. This position is ideal for graduates with a foundation in Economics, Econometrics, or related disciplines, particularly those who have gained experience through a placement year or post-graduate role in fields such as credit risk or data analytics.
The successful candidate will work on ensuring robust model governance, producing clear and actionable reporting, and contributing to strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Economics, Econometrics, or related fields (2:1 or above).
- Experience gained during a placement year or through a post-graduate role in areas such as credit risk, data analysis, or econometrics.
- A strong numerical mindset, with an ability to grasp key concepts related to data and risk.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key responsibilities of the role include (once trained & onboarded):
- Supporting the governance, monitoring, and reporting of critical risk models, ensuring compliance and performance alignment.
- Assisting with the development of data-driven strategies and contributing to scenario modeling to enhance business performance.
- Producing accurate and insightful management information (MI) to inform decision-making.
- Collaborating with internal teams, such as Credit Risk, Business Intelligence, and Commercial Analytics, to ensure governance efforts align with business objectives.
- Managing and maintaining databases to support governance and reporting functions.
- Communicating complex insights in a clear and concise manner to a range of stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
Requirements:
- A strong academic background in Economics, Econometrics, or a related discipline.
- Exposure to data-driven environments or analytical roles through work placements or graduate positions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with additional knowledge of tools such as SQL or Python being advantageous.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to present information effectively.
