SF Recruitment are working with a business in Birmingham who are looking to recruit a Contracts Manager (IT Procurement) to the team £400 per day (Inside IR35) This role will provide end-to-end commercial support and governance for our sales and services businesses.These roles are highly visible within our enterprise and require individuals with strong risk and relationship management experience. Our work is a mix of pre-contract commercial modelling, bid support and terms reviews, together with contract drafting, framework management and client liaison. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Services these roles are hybrid working in nature We are looking to hear from mid-level to senior practitioners who have broad commercial experience across sourcing, contracts, supplier management and procurement with particular focus on public sector framework procurement, IT services commercial management, or supply chain management professionals with transferable skills. This role would suit the following previous employment types: - 1. Commercial Contracts specialist 2. Public Sector Buyers 3. Procurement Managers 4. Supplier Managers 5. Supply Chain Professionals 6. Commercial Managers Suitability for interview for these positions will require evidence of one of the following: - a. Previous Commercial / Procurement role within an IT company b. Previous Public Sector Buyer role (especially IT or services) c. Previous Commercial Management role (with a public sector client or portfolio) d. Previous Supplier Management Role with a Distributed or Mgd Service company e. Commercial Planning or modelling role within a complex environment f. Previous Quantity Surveyor role with public sector framework experience Candidates must have excellent IT and communications skills, be able to evidence practical experience of similar roles and articulate the challenges faced in modern IT commercial management - specifically as they relate to public sector frameworks. Candidates with line-management experience, IT sector experience, and / or experience in the public sector are highly desirable. Salary and benefits are negotiable within bounds of the declared salary. Responsibilities This role will have responsibility for a defined scope of commercial practice. The successful candidate will take accountability for supporting the end-to-end needs of one of our business units, providing pre-contract through to contract management support for a portfolio of suppliers / clients. The role has responsibility for the line management and development of an Assistant Commercial Manager(s) together with their own continuous professional development and contribution to the Commercial Service development plan. Pre-Contract - Provide commercial and contractual best practice guidance and support to the Customer Bidding Teams working on new business opportunities, including but not limited to: o Leading the Customer & Sub-Contractor contract negotiations. o Drafting/ modifying of Service Schedules such as Descriptions, Service Level Agreements and Charges Schedules to meet the Customers' and the company's needs. o Ensuring that assumptions, caveats and limitations provided by other areas of the business and/or Sub-Contractors are clearly defined in the terms. o Where required obtain approval to modify standard service offerings from the relevant service owners. o Supporting Legal teams in understanding Commercial and Operational implications/ impact on the legal terms o Ensuring that the contract correctly reflects the underpinning cost model o Ensuring appropriate contracts/ flow downs are agreed with Sub-Contractors o Acting as a definitive authority/ point of contact on the contents and deliverables of the Contract for Operations Senior Management. Post-Contract - As required support the Transition Team to ensure successful business take on. - Feedback into the business "lessons learnt" and work with Commercial and Legal teams to ensure the contracting documentation remains "Fit for Purpose" - Provide guidance and support relating to the interpretation of the Contract to the Customer Service Management team to ensure Contract continues to be managed in accordance with the terms. - Act as a reviewer/ approver of any change controls to the Contract during its term. - Any other relevant duties as directed by Management
