ASSOCIATE TRANSPORT SPECIALIST

Birmingham

70,000 plus benefits

Superb role with this leading consultancy calling for a seasoned Transport Specialist to lead their public sector focus offering across the country. You will be joining a well- respected practice who are continuing to go from strength to strength and win some of the most notable schemes in the UK.

An experienced Transport Planner within the public sector environment you will have experience of delivering and project managing commissions with both public and private sector clients with only minimal supervision required. As a confident communicator verbally and in writing, you will be required to present and communicate their ideas clearly and concisely both internally and also to a wide range of external audiences. Chartership with a relevant professional body would be advantageous but not essential.

Additionally you will have:-

  • Considerable experience in public sector facing transport planning and/or working in a public sector transport planning team
  • Significant experience of a wide range of multi-modal transport projects
  • Experience of public sector governance processes and working in a political environment
  • Significant experience in the production of, and providing advice regarding, transport strategies and policies
  • Experience of the development of business cases and funding bids, including knowledge of Government Business Case guidance including TAG
  • Significant knowledge and experience of applying government policy and guidance to projects
  • An understanding of the planning process in England
  • Excellent communication skills and interface with clients including becoming trusted advisors
  • Ability to train junior staff
  • Ability to contribute / lead on bids and financial proposals
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of industry specific modelling software
