Your new companyYou will be joining an established civil engineering contractor based in Birmingham operating across a multitude of different sectors. This multi-accredited company boasts an impressive list of clientele including high-profile water companies as well as local authorities and councils. They have a healthy order book and offer excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to continued success, they are looking to onboard an Estimator to join their business.Your new roleAs Estimator, you will be based out of their Birmingham office and be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Preparing detailed and comprehensive project bids and proposals
  • Gathering quotes for all predicated requirements from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assessing potential risks and opportunities on projects
  • Liaising with key internal and external project stakeholders
  • Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the buying team
  • Monitoring project stages to ensure costs are in line with forecasts
  • Updating estimates to reflect any alterations in project specifications.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you must have:

  • Previous UK experience estimating within the civil engineering industry
  • Familiarity with Microsoft packages
  • Commercial awareness and sound negotiation skills
  • Self-starter attributes and be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence.
