Role:Fire and Security Service Engineer

Location:Birmingham

Salary:28,000 - 34,000 per annum

Technical Resources are recruiting for a Fire and Security Service Engineer in Birmingham to join the field service team responsible for the delivery of PPM, reactive calls, and small works. You will ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards while maintaining high levels of service across a range of fire extinguishers and associated equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing, testing, inspection, and repairs of fire extinguishers and associated products to relevant standards.
  • Handle PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance), reactive calls, and additional small works as required.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and records in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide excellent communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Participate in company-initiated training to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge.

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • Previous experience in PPM, reactive calls, and small works in the fire and security systems industry.
  • Strong fault-finding techniques and knowledge of relevant standards and codes.
  • Familiarity with accident reporting, RAMS, and health and safety legislation.
  • Strong communication skills and basic literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Technical problem-solving abilities and willingness to share knowledge with colleagues.
  • High commitment to health and safety requirements in the workplace.
