We are currently recruiting for a full-time and permanent Handyman/woman to cover our client's sites in east Birmingham and Coventry.

Monday to Friday - Days - 40hr week.

Our client runs six sites for children in care and the successful candidate would oversee essential repairs and building maintenance tasks across all sites.

Due to the nature of the business and their locations, candidates must have a full, clean driving licence and be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.

The ideal candidate will possess a diverse range of maintenance and repair skills, allowing them to address various tasks efficiently. This role requires someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently using their initiative. The Handy person will play a crucial role in ensuring that the properties are well-maintained, presentable and functional.

Duties:

- Perform general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, basic electrical work and carpentry.- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from property managers.- Repair or replace fixtures such as sinks, lighting, and doors as needed.- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety.

- Painting and decorating regularly to ensure the properties are appealing to those living within.

Skills Required:

- Proven experience in a similar role with a strong background in general maintenance and repair work.- Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and basic construction techniques.- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently.- Excellent communication skills for interacting with tenants and team members.- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively.- A valid driving licence- Flexibility to manage own workload and the hours it takes to fulfil the duties assigned

A works vehicle will be provided to travel between sites and to collect materials - access to own tools would be beneficial but not essential.
