Opportunity to join the tech team ofaBirmingham based menswear brand as a Garment Technologist.

Garment Technologist primary responsibilities:

Independently able to check samples against tech pack, measure samples and confidently communicate comments back to the factory
Offering advice on fabrics and trims for suitability of garments and design
Advising on and approving care labels
Responding to product related queries, both internally and from customers
Ensuring production follows the critical path
Overseeing fabric testing and fittings of samples
Making sure internal systems are up to date
Building & maintaing relationships with suppliers.

Garment Technologist required skills:

Strong understanding of manufacturing, textiles, garment construction, seam construction, pattern cutting and garment cycle process
Technical knowledge of fabrics/trims and threads, gained preferably within a fast paced commercial or supplier environment
Ability to convey technical information to factories in a clear concise way
Competent in use of MS Office programs such as Excel & Word
Exceptional eye for technical detail to ensure quality standards are upheld
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience across woven & jersey, preferably in menswear
Strong grasp of spoken & written English with excellent communication skills
Ability to convey technical information clearly in layman's terms
Ability to work independently
Flexible approach to be able to adjust to changing needs of the business
Highly organised with good prioritisation skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Keen interest in Fashio n / Men's Fashion & Textiles
