Our client, a leading organisation in the Utilities industry, is seeking a talented Commercial Lead to join their team. Be part of the team that is responsible for delivering key infrastructure projects and shaping the energy landscape for years to come.

As the Commercial Lead, you will play a vital role in driving commercial value for the end consumer and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. You will have the opportunity to develop and implement commercial governance frameworks that will enable the development and construction of crucial grids while delivering value for both the end consumer and our client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and monitor critical commercial governance criteria for portfolio and programme governance
  • Act as a panel commercial Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide insights and support decision-making
  • Develop and maintain commercial principles for various contracting models
  • Implement proactive commercial assurance with critical supplier partners
  • Lead commercial compliance activity and ensure alignment with contractual entitlements
  • Ownership of emerging commercial risks and issues, implementing remedial actions
  • Assure payments and incentives to suppliers align with contractual terms
  • Take the lead in lessons learned activity and drive corrective actions
  • Foster relationships with senior leaders and central functions to keep them updated on commercial assurance activities

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in contract management
  • In-depth understanding of the energy sector or ancillary industries with high capex infrastructure
  • Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated gravitas and ability to operate independently
  • Numerical degree or professional commercial qualification (e.g., MCIPS, MRICS)
  • Familiarity with major contract frameworks is desirable
