Project Planner
About the role
- As a Project Planner, you will report into the Head of Development, with accountability to specific Project Managers and Senior Project Managers in the Development Team.
- The successful applicant will have a technical planning background and in addition will have a good understanding of the phases of construction projects, and previous experience of working on projects with a range of commercial values will be useful.
- Expert user of commercially available project planning software
- The Project Planner role will require the applicant to be able to generate, combine and manage the plans of numerous projects and to understand where these projects interact

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans that outline tasks, milestones, and deadlines, with input from project teams (either BAL or contractor).
- Create an overall project programme by merging individual project plans and ensure this programme is kept up-to-date
- Highlighting potential conflicts between projects and ensuring the relevant Project Managers understand the conflicts
- Ensuring that all issues within the programme are highlighted and understood by the Project Manager and that they are given appropriate planning advice.
- Allocate resources to the plans and highlight any resource shortfall
- Be responsible for ensuring that internal planning processes are followed on all assigned projects to allow for consistency of reporting.
- Provide project schedules and performance data in a timely manner
- Identify any project deviations, and report on changes and delays to the individual projects and how the overall project programme is affected.
- Must be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team in the Development team.
Candidate requirements
- Minimum HNC/HND (construction related)
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and practical application of planning and construction activities
- 3 to 5 years planning experience
