Role Location: Minworth

Working Hours: Night Shift MON-WED 20:50 - 06:00, THU 20:50 - 06:50

 

 

Role Definition

 

The Team Leader ensures the smooth operation of the manufacturing department, organising operator activities, verifying materials and processes, and maintaining high quality and safety standards. Effective communication and leadership are critical in this role, requiring collaboration across departments and direct supervision of operators.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the team.
  • Motivate and support the team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement plans to meet production targets.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to team members.
  • Train team members to maximise their potential and ensure process adherence.
  • Verify "Q" numbers to schedules for material traceability.
  • Maintain process adherence unless deviations are approved.
  • Contribute to cell clean-downs after production completion.
  • Validate assembly fixture conditions and escalate any issues.
  • Perform daily housekeeping audits.
  • Submit daily shift reports and ensure NCP (Non-Conformance Product) validation.
  • Control and verify labelling processes.
  • Input shift data into the production system.
  • Track customer requirements against EDI.
  • Conduct return-to-work interviews and handle disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Maximise machine efficiency and address performance gaps.

  • Provide leadership and motivation to the team.
  • Monitor team performance and solve problems proactively.
  • Ensure the health and welfare of the team.

  • RFT: Paint Plant yield at 80%, overall yield at 95%.
  • Housekeeping: Audit scores of 95% or higher.
  • Training Coverage: 3x3% operator coverage.
  • Machine Efficiency: 85% OEE.
  • Adherence to Plan: 95%.
  • NCP Reporting Accuracy: 95% or higher.
  • Internal Quality Audit Score: 95% or higher.

 

 

Expected Competencies & Development Path

 

  • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (Level 1 or 2).
  • Basic Lean Manufacturing (Six Sigma Yellow Belt).
  • Accident Investigation and Reporting.
  • NVQ/ILM Team Leader (Level 1 or 2).
  • HR Training: Absence, conflict, performance, and disciplinary management.
  • Train-the-Trainer certification.
