Design Manager to join a Teir 1 Contractor, ensuring projects meet client needs to a busy and personable team, this position is paying an annual salary of £60,000 - £85,000 DOE. Working hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.

Duties:

  • Project Planning & Management: Overseeing the entire design process from concept to completion, including managing budgets, timelines, and resources
  • Design Coordination: Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to ensure a cohesive and functional design
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicating effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to manage expectations and address concerns
  • Compliance & Regulations: Ensuring designs meet all relevant codes, regulations, and standards, including fire safety, planning, and building control
  • Quality Control: Reviewing designs and providing feedback to ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential design-related risks
  • BIM Management: Managing the Building Information Modelling (BIM) process for the project
  • Design Documentation: Ensuring that all design documentation is accurate, complete, and readily available to the construction team
  • Contract Administration: Overseeing contract administration and compliance for the project
  • Sustainability: Ensuring that sustainability objectives are realised and that the site has minimal impact on the environment and the local community
  • Feedback and Best Practices: Seeking feedback from stakeholders and implementing best practices in future projects

Experience required:

  • Previous works for a tier one contractor
  • Background in civils & groundwork
  • Ability to organise a busy and varied workload, remain calm under pressure, and proactive in approach to tasks
  • PC literate with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
