Painter & Decorator

Birmingham

Salary: £28,000 per annum, plus 10% performance bonus

Hours: 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday

My client is an emerging Build to Rent property management company.  They are looking to hire a permanent painter & decorator for BTR schemes in Birmingham consisting of 467 residential apartments. The Painter & Decorator will assist in driving the performance of the site through collaborating with the on-site team to achieve the same goals, whilst delivering an industry leading resident experience.  

We are looking for an individual who will take ownership of all tasks assigned to them and do so with a can-do attitude and a people first approach to the role. 

This role will report directly into the Resident Operations Manager and will collaborate with other teams across the UK. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary.
  • Apply paints, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes with precision and care.
  • Measure and mix paint and other materials, ensuring proper application.
  • Fill cracks, holes, and imperfections in surfaces prior to painting.
  • Ensure high-quality finish standards for all projects, following company guidelines and customer expectations.
  • Remove old wallpaper and prepare surfaces for new coverings.
  • Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure longevity and safety.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to meet project timelines and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining professional conduct on-site.
  • Some additional light carpentry may be required.
  • Assist the Maintenance Operative with other tasks as and when needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a painter and decorator or similar role.
  • Knowledge of painting techniques and materials.
  • Ability to work with precision and attention to detail.
  • Good physical condition and ability to lift and move materials.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed.
