The Role

National Bereavement Service, part of Octopus Legacy, seeks a compassionate and experienced Bereavement Trainer to deliver tailored workplace and customer-facing bereavement training. You will shape training services, helping diverse sectors address bereavement challenges. With growing demand, you will design and deliver courses on death and grief, while supporting the development of new trainers and staying current with bereavement practices.  

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Tailor training to client needs through initial client scoping meetings. 
  • Develop training proposals and deliver packages to external clients. 
  • Support new trainer development under the Bereavement Training Manager’s guidance. 
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system. 
  • Meet monthly training delivery targets. 
  • Monitor best practices and update training content. 
  • Represent NBS and Octopus Legacy at external events and conferences. 
  • Introduce clients to NBS services when necessary. 
  • Assist with internal training and audits.

Who are you?

  • Experienced in delivering training to diverse audiences. 
  • Skilled in presenting in-person and virtually. 
  • Background in health, social services, bereavement support, legal, or charitable sectors (advantageous). 
  • Proficient in creating training materials, presentations, and proposals. 
  • Comfortable using CRM systems, Word, Excel, and digital platforms. 
  • Able to communicate death and bereavement topics sensitively. 
  • Professional in handling distressing information and the ability to practice self-care
  • Capable of supporting participants triggered by content and making necessary referrals. 
  • Willing to undergo a full DBS check.
