Are you an experienced Recruitment Consultant looking to move into Learning and Development? We’re looking for a Learning and Development Consultant/Trainerto join us in our brand-new Birmingham City Centre offices.

This is a new role focused on training and onboarding junior Recruitment Consultants, ensuring they get a flying start to their careers and helping us grow to a team of 120 people by 2028. Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, you will be pivotal in supporting the onboarding and coaching of new talent within the business (consultants from 0 - 6 months experience).

Responsibilities of the Learning and Development Consultant/Trainer role:

Supporting all activities related to the learning and development of Trainees in the business, including the following areas.

Coaching at desk:

  • Listen in to calls and coach at desk or in call clinics to embed classroom learning
  • Quality checking all aspects of the recruitment process such as formatted CVs, candidate registrations and job qualification
  • Ensure efficient usage of our systems (including tracking commercial information such as leads)
  • Review and analysis of activity, 'desk data’ and ratios to suggest consultant improvements

Embedding learning and continuous improvement:

  • Working in small groups with trainees on particular topics e.g. role plays, sessions, sales days etc
  • Shadowing and sign off for face to face candidate registrations
  • Assessment and sign off for all key competencies
  • Tracking follow up actions and tasks and holding consultants accountable
  • Conducting weekly check-ins and reviews to assess learning progress
  • Conducting TNA for the business and feedback to L&D manager with the findings

Coordinating training processes:

  • Booking in training for all consultants across the building
  • Sending SurveyMonkey requests post-training

Talent acquisition support:

  • Support talent acquisition with vetting and hiring new talent into the business
  • Tracking and headhunting experienced consultants
  • Review competitors in the market to support a continuously improving offering to our staff

The successful Learning and Development Consultant/Trainer will have:

  • Proven experience in Recruitment, and ideally with some level of experience coaching or training junior colleagues
  • A patient approach with excellent communication skills with a positive attitude
  • Great time management and organisation skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure
  • The ability to motivate, support and influence - to bring the best out of people!
