Credit Controller Birmingham City Centre Rapidly Growing Consumables Business - High Volume - Credit Control £30-32k salary - Perm role SF are supporting a well known fast moving consumer goods supplier who sell to a number of channels including convenience stores, large chains & National retailers. You would be working within a fast pace environment whereby you would to have experience of dealing with chasing debts from large corporates/groups. Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated and detail-oriented, with a proven track record in credit control. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the credit control function, ensuring timely payment of outstanding invoices, and minimising the risk of bad debt. This role will require a high level of energy and a "get things done" attitude, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the credit control function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices - Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action to ensure timely payment - Proactively communicate with customers to resolve payment issues - Work closely with the sales team to ensure credit limits are set appropriately - Review and analyse customer credit ratings and recommend changes as necessary - Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records - Investigate and resolve any disputes or discrepancies related to invoicing or payment - Prepare and present regular reports on the credit control function to management - Continuously improve credit control policies and procedures to minimize the risk of bad debt Qualifications: - Experience in credit control, required in a fast-paced environment - A proven track record of successfully managing the credit control function - Excellent communication and negotiation skills - Strong attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities - Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Sage - Experience with credit control software and accounting systems
