Job Title: Credit Controller
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Central Birmingham
Working Arrangement: Monday to Friday (09:00am - 17:30pm), Hybrid with 1 day at home per week.
Recardo Group is representing an award-winning business located in the heart of Birmingham City Centre. The prestigious Barristers is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team on a full time permanent basis.
The Successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments.
- Contact clients to chase unpaid invoices, using phone calls, emails, or letters
- Resolve issues preventing payment, such as disputes or administrative errors.
- Assess the creditworthiness of potential clients using financial data.
- Set and review credit limits for existing clients based on payment history and risk analysis.
- Build good working relationships with clients to ensure timely payments.
- Act as a point of contact for payment-related queries.
- Recommend actions to minimise the risk of bad debt.
- Provide regular updates to management on the status of outstanding debts.
- Prepare reports highlighting high-risk accounts or trends in late payments.
- Work with sales, accounts, and legal teams to ensure smooth credit management.
- Update systems with notes on payment agreements, communications, and status of debts.
