Job Title: Junior Cybersecurity Analyst
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (with potential for permanent placement)
Work Type: Flexible (Office and Home Working) - Typically 1-2 days per month in the office
Team: In-House Cyber/Security Team
Location: Birmingham

Overview:
Our client is seeking a motivated and dynamic Cybersecurity Analyst to join their small but dedicated in-house Cyber/Security team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about cybersecurity, eager to learn, and ready to engage with internal stakeholders. While prior financial services or regulatory experience is a plus, it is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support in the management and improvement of cybersecurity processes, tools, and monitoring systems.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of risk management practices.
  • Participate in governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) activities, including testing and auditing.
  • Handle access requests and ensure adherence to security policies.
  • Review and update security policies as necessary.
  • Respond to security-related questions from staff and address business queries relating to cybersecurity.
  • Monitor security systems and assist with penetration testing (PEN) and defect management.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to promote security awareness and best practices.

Skills and Experience:
  • A good grasp of cybersecurity principles and projects.
  • Background in testing or quality assurance, especially in relation to security processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • An attitude of continuous learning and the ability to quickly adapt and hit the ground running.
  • Experience in governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
  • Understanding of security monitoring and protection tools.
  • Familiarity with penetration testing and defect management processes.
