Job Description:

Anderselite are currently looking to speak with Mechanical Design Engineers & Senior Mechanical Design Engineers with experience working within the Water and Wastewater sectors, as our clients look to develop their Design Engineering teams, in preparation for AMP8.

The role will suit candidates with prior Mechanical Design experience working on M&E, MEICA and Process elements of Clean and Wastewater projects, including infrastructure assets such as pumping stations, pipework, pipelines, treatment plants, river outlets (From small-scale pump replacement projects through to large-scale water networks and treatment plants).

You will get the opportunity to work on a wide range of diverse projects, from small scale to major projects, where you will be responsible for the production and coordination of outline and detailed Design Deliverables, on combined Process / Mechanical / Electrical schemes within the Severn Trent region.

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Ascertaining Clients requirements through specification documents and visiting sites.
  • Determine operational requirement and proposing appropriate design solutions.
  • Ensuring scheme designs are value engineered and adhere to client specifications.
  • Promoting innovation and challenging parties involved to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Providing engineering calculations and solutions from inception to completion of schemes.
  • Utilising in house design and outside design partners to create effective designs.
  • Ensuring designs are approved by the client (where applicable) in accordance with the timescales.
  • Ensuring all design work is completed to agreed programmes, financial budgets, KPI's and to a high-quality complying with internal design procedures, within HSQE and CDM regulations.
  • Attending internal and external design reviews and progress meetings, which may include travel.

Candidates will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working as a Mechanical Engineer/Design Engineer, within the Water sector, on AMP Framework projects such as AMP6 / AMP7 / AMP8 early works.
  • Previous experience delivering design works for of Clean and Wastewater projects, including infrastructure assets such as pumping stations, pipework, pipelines, treatment plants, river outlets etc.
  • A relevant qualification related to Mechanical Engineering (i.e. BEng/BSc/HNC or equivalent).
  • Chartership status or be working towards Chartership (Desirable).
  • Appreciation / working knowledge of associated M&E, MEICA, Civils & Process works.
  • Working experience in hydraulic calculations, for assets such as pipelines & pumping assets.
  • Knowledge of HSQE (Health Safety Quality Environment) compliance and CDM regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interact with clients on design works.
  • (Desirable) Experience working within / An understanding of water and sewage treatment processes.
  • (Desirable) Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and FEA software's
