Special Needs 1:1 Teaching Assistant for KS1

Position Overview:

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with students in KS1. The successful candidate will play an essential role in providing personalised assistance to students with special educational needs, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

Qualifications:

Level 3 - Childcare (or equivalent)

Relevant experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting.

Understanding of various special educational needs, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and sensory processing disorders.

Knowledge of and experience with individualised education plans (IEPs) and the ability to implement accommodations and modifications accordingly.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students with special needs succeed academically and socially.

Ability to adapt teaching methods and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.

Knowledge of and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following ethical guidelines in the education field.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position with regular school hours, Monday through Friday.

The role may require occasional flexibility in working hours to accommodate students' needs.
