Prospero Teaching are looking for a well-qualified and highly competent Teaching Assistant to work with a primary school based in Selly Oak. The school are a warm and welcoming 2 form entry school with a fantastic link to public transport. The successful candidate should:

  • Have effective literacy and numeracy skills in order to work, as necessary, with pupils across the primary age range.
  • Have experience of working with small groups of pupils to run interventions focused on addressing gaps in learning.
  • Have high expectations of childrens behaviour and attainment.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills this includes effective communication skills and working well within a team.
  • Be open to advice, feedback and guidance/direction from colleagues.
  • Be interested in and willing to take part in CPD opportunities to extend their skill base.
  • Have an understanding of, or a willingness to learn, about how to effectively teach phonics and early reading.
  • Demonstrate relevant experience and training in supporting with SEND
  • Experience in the planning and delivery of bespoke and personalised interventions
  • Experience of communicating and working with families.
  • Be able to evaluate the impact of interventions over time.
