Tradewind are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work in a local secondary school in a large mixed mainstream secondary school near the Bartley Green area in south Birmingham. The role is 5 days per week from 8.30am until 4pm. The successful candidate will be supporting small groups of students and some 1-1 intervention support will be required. The role is long term starting from 6th November until later in the new year. The school are looking to appoint permanently and you will be encourage to apply should you wish.

If you have experience working as a cover supervisor or a teaching assistant in a UK secondary or primary school and you feel confident to work as a SEND Teaching Assistant please get in touch asap. You will support students aged 11 -16 years old. This role is suitable for level 2, 3 and 4 teaching assistants.

To be considered for the position of SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND staff.
  • Have a passion for supporting children with MLD
  • have previous experience working with children with SEND
  • Be committed and professional
  • Be an organised, enthusiastic, and proactive person
  • Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one (costs refunded back to you when you complete 20 days work)
  • have satisfactory references
  • have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
