Teaching Assistant – Secondary School Teaching Assistant required to provide classroom-based support at this large secondary school in South Birmingham. This school is looking to add an experienced teaching assistant to the team to work with children with special educational needs. You will be joining a small team of teaching assistants who work hard to ensure that every child has a brilliant education.As a teaching assistant at this school, you will be supporting in the classroom and within the SEND hub, working on a 1-2-1 and small group basis. The school has excellent behaviour and children want to learn. Staff are friendly and the SENCO goes above and beyond to make a difference. Ideally you will hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification however, SEND experience is essential. This role requires a TA who can start quickly and holds a valid DBS. Job Role:
  • Supporting students with additional needs on a 1-2-1 and whole class basis.
  • Having a good understanding of a range of additional needs.
  • Working as a Classroom Assistant / Teaching Assistant in a secondary school.
  • Supporting students in the SEND hub when they are unable to attend lessons.
  • Breaking down barriers to communication and managing behaviours.
