Our wonderful Birmingham city centre Primary school is now looking for a SEN teaching assistant to join them on a full-time basis for the whole Autumn term. They need a teaching assistant just like you!

As a Teaching Assistant, your role is to support children with additional needs across EYFS, Key stage 1 and key stage 2 .Your role will be to support their academic and personal well-being. Working to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. Personal care may be required when supporting EYFS pupils. Your ability to manage behaviour will also be key to your success in this role.

The role:

  • Teaching Assistant
  • SEND teaching Assistant
  • Full-time (Monday to Friday)
  • Autumn term
  • Birmingham

Duties will include:

  • To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the School.
  • To promote and encourage independence and personal development
  • Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class
  • To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
  • To promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.

Experience /Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Level 2 or equivalent is essential.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience of working in a primary school environment is highly desirable.
