Zest Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary School in the Castle Bromwich area. As a teaching assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support student learning, both in a 1-to-1 setting and within the classroom as a whole. This is a full-time position, but the school may consider part-time hours (0.8) for the right candidate. The role is due to commence in January 2025 (or earlier if possible).

Key responsibilities:

- Providing 1 to 1 support to students who require additional assistance in their learning.- Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment.- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.- Providing additional support for students with special educational needs or disabilities.- Assisting with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.- Monitoring student progress and reporting any concerns to the classroom teacher.

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience working in a secondary school setting. You should have a passion for education and a desire to support students in achieving their full potential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also important for building effective relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Zest Education are an REC audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
