Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs School, Birmingham

This welcoming school is looking for a compassionate and supportive Teaching Assistant to join its amazing team. This vibrant special school specialises in supporting children with Autism and moderate learning need and requires a Teaching Assistant that has previous experience working with SEND.

As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be working on a 1-2-1 and small group basis with KS4 children who love to learn. You will be responsible for providing academic support and ensuring the additional needs of these children are met. The school has been recognised for the brilliant support that it provides students, and this is thanks to the wonderful team of Teaching Assistants and Classroom Assistants who go above and beyond to make a difference. Job Role:

  • Supporting students with additional needs on a 1-2-1 and whole class basis.
  • Having a good understanding of a range of special educational needs.
  • Working with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the needs of student are met.
  • Delivering small group activities and 1-2-1 interventions for students.
  • Breaking down barriers to communication and managing behaviours.
