HAYS are delighted to be working with the West Midlands Combined Authority to recruit a Senior ER Advisor to join their team. My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employment Relations Advisor to join their team on an interim basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and resolving employment relations issues, ensuring compliance with employment law, and supporting the HR team in delivering effective employee relations strategies.

These roles are paying between £150-200 per day (inside IR35) and the successful candidate will be office-based 2/3 days per week.

The key responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on employment relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, and performance management issues.
  • Conduct investigations and manage casework, ensuring timely and effective resolution of employment relations issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of employment relations policies and procedures.
  • Advise managers and employees on employment law and best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of cases at employment tribunals.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to ensure consistent and fair application of employment policies.
  • Monitor and report on employment relations trends and issues within the organisation.
  • Deliver training and workshops on employment relations topics to managers and staff.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in an employment relations advisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and best practices.
  • Strong case management and investigation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high caseload.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
