As a Forest Leader Level 3, you will lead and deliver inspiring forest school sessions for children of various ages, promoting environmental stewardship and outdoor learning. You will be responsible for planning and facilitating activities that help children develop skills, confidence, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate Forest School sessions that are safe, engaging, and educational.
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment where children feel encouraged to explore and learn.
  • Foster a love of nature and an understanding of environmental sustainability.
  • Manage and maintain the forest school site, ensuring it is safe and suitable for all activities.
  • Lead and mentor assistants or volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders about the benefits of forest school and the progress of participants.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and the principles of Forest School ethos.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, risk assessments, and session plans.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification (essential).
  • Experience in delivering forest school sessions or outdoor education programs.
  • A strong understanding of child development and the benefits of outdoor learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • First Aid certification (preferably outdoor or paediatric first aid).
  • A passion for the environment and a desire to share this with others.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
