This is a brand new role that has been created to work closely with HR, procurement and leadership to take the company’s ‘people & planet’ strategy to the next level.

Within this ESG Manager role you will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. This role is crucial for tracking sustainability performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, engaging stakeholders, and driving corporate responsibility strategies that align with business objectives and industry best practices.

Salary = £40-45,000 per annum

Training = You will have two key support figures in HR and Procurement who have over 25 years longevity in the company and are super supportive

Day-to-day of the role:

  • ESG Strategy & Policy Development:
    • Develop and implement ESG strategies, frameworks, and policies.
    • Ensure compliance with local and international ESG regulations and reporting standards.
    • Conduct training and education for associates on ESG initiatives.
  • Environmental Sustainability & Compliance:
    • Lead initiatives for carbon footprint reduction, waste management, energy efficiency, and water conservation.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental laws and sustainability regulations across the UK, EU, and Middle East.
    • Implement green practices and sustainable sourcing policies.
  • Governance & Ethical Business Practices:
    • Align ESG policies with corporate governance frameworks.
    • Enhance supply chain transparency and ensure responsible procurement practices.
  • ESG Reporting & Data Management:
    • Manage ESG performance data reporting in line with international frameworks.
    • Support the sales team and tender processes with ESG-related queries.
    • Ensure compliance with BSI 14001 certification and Ecovadis standards.
  • Risk Management & Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify ESG-related risks and opportunities.
    • Benchmark and enhance ESG performance to meet sustainability targets.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will have previous environmental or sustainability strategy experience, corporate responsibility experience or have specifically been in an ESG role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related field is highly desirable but not essential
  • Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, sustainability reporting, and corporate governance.
  • Excellent analytical and data management skills.
  • Proficient in environmental regulations, social impact programs, and ethical business practices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and travel as required.
  • Part of this role will mean visiting customers alongside the sales team to discuss the company’s ESG approach, therefore this candidate must be comfortable with this element
