THE COMPANY

This iconic Birmingham based venue hosts a varied range of large-scale events such as conferences, dinners, weddings and meetings - with the opportunity to make events as bespoke as possible for both private and corporate clients.

Continually growing their portfolio, they have a broad base of interesting clients. The multi-purpose venue offers a versatile backdrop for a wide range of business, as well as having an exciting in-house event programme! 

THE ROLE

With a growing number of events and clients, there is now the opportunity for a Technical Event Manager to come onboard and be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of the technical requirements for a broad range of events including conferences, product launches, gala dinners and award ceremonies.

This is a broad role that includes:

  • Managing the delivery of all technical requirements and instructions as dictated by the event brief.
  • Supporting on technical elements of the sales and planning aspects of all events
  • Managing and supporting Events Technicians in all aspects of set up, fit-ups, de-rigs and get-outs, to include preparation of lighting, production and AV equipment prior to events, including focusing, graphical set ups and sound testing. 
  • Being the point of contact for event clients on technical event aspects
  • Supporting the development of new technologies and procedures for a more efficient and current delivery of events
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Ensuring smooth operation of equipment, including the lighting control desks, stage electrics, sound desk, etc. during events.
  • Offering troubleshooting assistance for any event.
  • Managing and maintaining an inventory of technical equipment. Including regular testing, stock level reviews and quality checks.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will ideally have previous experience of working within an events venue or similar from a technical delivery perspective. You must be proficient in many technical AV elements including lighting, graphics and sound.
