Finance Analyst (6 month FTC)

Salary: £35,000

Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Finance Analyst to join their team on a 6 month FTC. In this role, you will be working closely with both the accounts payable team and management accounts team, assisting them in meeting key business objectives. You will be responsible for all areas of Agents payables modelling, data cleansing, and VAT audit work amongst other areas. This role requires advanced Excel knowledge and a deep understanding of VAT rules.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Analyst, your role will be pivotal in assisting the company in meeting its key business objectives. You will be tasked with preparing bimonthly cashflow forecasts, improving the accuracy of these forecasts, and working closely with the management accounts team to enhance the precision of balance sheet reconciliations. Your responsibilities will also include tracking trends in agents' payments, working with various teams to cleanse purchase ledger accounts, improving data quality for statement preparation, conducting VAT audit work, and modelling different payment scenarios.

  • Preparation of bimonthly cashflow forecasts
  • Improve accuracy of cashflow forecasts by understanding variance between forecast and actuals
  • Work with management accounts to improve accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Track trends in agents' payments such as payments by intake and territory, bonuses by intake and average commission percentages
  • Work with Agents payable team, management accounts and compliance to cleanse purchase ledger accounts
  • Ensure set up is in line with approved contracts and VAT grouping is correct
  • Improve data quality for statement preparation
  • Conduct VAT audit work to ensure accounts and transactions show the correct VAT group in line with contracts and tax guidance
  • Modelling of different payment scenarios

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Finance Analyst position brings a wealth of experience and skills to the table. You have a sound understanding of accounting principles, compliance, and auditing. Your advanced knowledge of Excel allows you to efficiently handle tasks related to data modelling and management report building. You are either part-qualified as an AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA accountant or hold a degree in a relevant finance subject or are qualified by experience. Your experience dealing with large data sets and complex reconciliations will prove invaluable in this role. Additionally, your understanding of VAT rules and ability to comprehend contracts will be crucial in performing your duties.
