Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract based in Birmingham City Centre. This role offers the opportunity to provide financial analysis over supplier payments and expenditure, set procurement policies, and drive process improvements. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of five, ensuring smooth operation of weekly payment runs and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do:

As an Accounts Payable Team Leader, your role will be pivotal in providing financial oversight and setting procurement policies. You'll have the opportunity to drive process improvements within a dynamic organisation. Your leadership skills will be utilised as you manage a team of five, ensuring smooth operation of weekly payment runs. Your excellent interpersonal skills will be essential in maintaining relationships with key suppliers. With your keen eye for detail, you'll ensure that all financial controls are functioning effectively.

  • Provide financial analysis over supplier payments and expenditure
  • Set appropriate procurement policies in conjunction with key stakeholders
  • Drive process improvement in changing systems and information flows
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable team
  • Ensure accurate and timely operation of the creditors' ledger and payment runs
  • Oversee production of weekly and monthly reports and prepare financial analysis on payments and expenditure
  • Maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly key suppliers
  • Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place and functioning effectively
