- Ensure the preparation of accurate and timely audited annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with the Department for Education’s Academy Handbook and other the requirements of the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), Charity Commission, HMRC and other relevant regulators
- Manage cash flow and investments, and oversee the Trust’s financial risk, providing advice and guidance to the Board of Trustees on risk management
- Ensure the preparation of accurate and timely Management Accounts to both Principals, Central team leaders and consolidated Trust board reports
- Key performance monitoring of integrated curriculum financial plans and staffing utilisation to inform budgets;
- Proven track record of financial leadership in the education, non-profit or public sector, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
- Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring transparency and accountability
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences
- A collaborative mindset, committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with extensive experience in a senior financial role
- Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing finance teams
