An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cost Management Director to join a leading property consultancy based in Birmingham. This role is a key leadership position within the organisation's Cost Consultancy division, supporting the delivery of high-profile projects across Commercial and Industrial sectors. As Cost Management Director, you will have strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and business development acumen.

Cost Management Director Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the Cost Consultancy team in Birmingham, ensuring efficient resource allocation and high-quality project delivery.
  • Manage cost and project management functions from inception to completion with minimal supervision, ensuring alignment with company standards and client expectations.
  • Lead business development activities, fostering relationships with new and existing clients to drive growth in the Birmingham market.
  • Collaborate with the wider national Project & Cost Management Group to support strategic initiatives and service expansion.
  • Ensure adherence to technical and corporate governance standards in project execution.

Cost Management Director Required Skills & Experience

  • Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) with a senior level of post-qualification experience in commercial cost management.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering cost management and project management services across various sectors.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management, mentoring, and resource planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Commercially astute with a proactive approach to identifying and securing business opportunities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ideally MS Project.
