This successful private equity backed national retail & distribution business in Birmingham are looking to strengthen their Senior Management team team with the appointment of a new Financial Accounting Manager.

This role will see you managing a team of 6-8 staff and assume responsibility for the Treasury and Financial Accounting functions of the UK operation in a fast-paced and commercially focused environment. You will ensure effective controls are in place to manage and improve cash-flow and its reporting, improve the integrity of general financial reporting and the increase the efficiency, speed and accuracy of month-end and statutory reporting.

You will lead by example, fostering a positive and energetic work environment in your team in order to encourage excellent results and support continued growth.

Ideally, you will:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with at least 4 years post-qualified experience gained in a management role in another large, fast=paced business;
  • Have sound technical knowledge of IFRS statutory reporting, Treasury management / accounting and tax accounting, with a thorough understanding of how your role can add value to the business in a genuine way;
  • Have a tangibly positive, energetic and enthusiastic approach to your work, inspiring the same qualities in others and allowing you to bring a 'fresh' perspective to the business;
  • Possess impressive achievements that demonstrate your ability to competently contribute at a strategic level in a commercially-focused business.
