About the Business

An opportunity to be a Finance Director for a business based in Birmingham. The company itself provide a software platform that is used by logistics firms and are based near Colmore row. The business is European owned and turns over circa £40m, growing in each of the last 4 years.

The company need an FD who is strategic in their thinking, but can step down to oversee the finance team, possibly getting hands on during times of team absence.

Main Duties:

As a Finance Director, your main duties include:

  • Preparation of financial and operational reports, including presentation to the board
    • Support key leadership with strategic decision making
    • Present key reports on a monthly basis
    • Support owners and investors
  • Leadership and development of group finance functions
  • Lead on future company planning and create business plans
  • Development of all financial reports to meet requirements of external stakeholders
  • Management of budgetary planning, forecasting, and monthly operational reporting
  • Management of year end audit processes
  • Design and implementation of global policies and procedures
  • Local treasury functions and cash flow management
  • Managing tax responsibilities including statutory reporting

Location / Office / Culture

The role is hybrid and based in Birmingham, with two to three days in the office and the rest at home. The company operates from a modern office with a strong Finance Team. The business is very flexible in its working patterns and strives to ensure they have a suitable and accommodating working environment.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA or CIMA
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact all levels of the business
  • A previous leadership role either as FC, Head of finance or Finance Director
  • Experience on senior leadership teams or interaction with a board
