Description

• Strategic Business Partnering: Act as a trusted business partner to the CEO and Board, offering financial guidance and commercial insights to help shape key strategic decisions. You will provide actionable analysis, ensuring the business remains focused on growth and profitability.
• Commercial Support: Offer proactive commercial support to all functions across the business, advising on cost control, margin enhancement, and operational efficiency to drive profitability.
• Systems & Scalability: Ensure the business's financial systems are both robust and scalable to meet future growth demands. Whether through business-as-usual activities or systems implementation, your systems expertise will be crucial in enabling the company's continued success. Experience with SAP is highly desirable, but any strong systems experience is welcomed.
• Change & Cultural Leadership: Act as a key enabler of change within the business, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You'll be a champion of financial transformation, driving both operational and cultural change across the organisation.
• KPI & Financial Reporting: Oversee the production of accurate, timely, and trusted financial KPIs and management accounts. Your ability to ensure transparency and reliability in all reporting will be critical for strategic decision-making.
• External Relationships: Manage key external relationships with auditors, banks, and other financial partners, ensuring strong, productive partnerships and compliance with all necessary financial regulations.
• Statutory Accounts & Technical Expertise: Take ownership of the production of statutory accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance. In addition, you'll have access to a strong network of technical specialists (e.g., international tax advisors) to support complex financial matters and ensure the business remains fully compliant across jurisdictions.

Profile

• Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification, with proven experience in leading financial functions at a senior level.
• Experience in Costings & Stock Management: A deep understanding of costings, stock management, and inventory control in a business where these factors are critically important to operations and profitability.
• Systems Expertise: A strong system-focused background, whether in managing day-to-day financial systems or through involvement in systems implementations. Experience with SAP is highly desirable but not essential.
• Senior Leadership Presence: As this is a senior role, you'll need to be highly visible in operations, working closely with the leadership team and other functions. You'll be expected to challenge the status quo and lead by example in driving both strategic and cultural change.
• Resilience & Strategic Thinking: The ideal candidate will be resilient, able to challenge existing practices and drive change while maintaining a clear strategic focus. You'll need to navigate complexity and ambiguity while delivering results.
• Technical Support Network: The ability to draw on a network of external technical experts (e.g., international tax advisors, legal advisors) to resolve complex issues and ensure the business meets regulatory requirements.
