  • The ideal candidate will possess strong financial and leadership skills, ideally with experience in an education setting, and will be qualified ACA/CIPFA/CIMA/ACCA, with Part Qualified or QBE candidates also considered.
  • Main responsibilities include managing a finance team, ensuring financial objectives are met, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and serving as the main contact for external audits.
  • This role offers a competitive salary of £70,000 to £80,000, and candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

RM Recruit is working with our Birmingham educational client to recruit a Finance Director on a permanent basis. The organisation is going through a period of positive growth and this is an exciting time to join them.

Main duties include:

  • Being an effective and driven leader and managing a busy finance team
  • Promoting values, ethos and best practice of the organisation through processes and procedures
  • Ensuring the organisation delivers financial objectives
  • Ensuring systems are robust and overseeing all month end, budgeting, reporting and forecasting of the organisation and its subsidiaries
  • Main contact for external audit
  • Overseeing Year End process
  • Monitoring the organisation and its subsidiaries financial and 5 year budget
  • Being a member of the senior team and communicating all financial information to key stakeholders
  • Advising the team of all financial commitments including providing training to relevant staff members
  • Developing and leading the finance function
  • Contribute to the development and review of a 3-year strategic business plan ensuring objectives are linked to the overall long term financial plan of the organisation
  • Managing projects and being pivotal in the growth and development of the organisation

As the ideal candidate, you will be qualified, ACA/CIPFA/CIMA/ACCA however, candidates who are Part Qualified or QBE will be considered. You will possess strong financial and leadership skills ideally gained in an education setting (FE/HE/Academy). This role will suit candidates from a similar background or those who are looking for a step up in their career and are able to demonstrate good financial acumen whilst driving positive change.
