Alexander Daniels are recruiting for a Finance Manager who specialises in tax and financial reporting for a business based in Birmingham. This is a technical role and would require you to supervise one other Financial Accountant. Previous experience in a similar role is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare VAT returns for the UK, Ireland, and Europe.
- Oversee and manage financial arrangements between business units and clients.
- Handle agreements and billing cycles, ensuring proper control and management.
- Manage accounting and reconciliations related to investments.
- Oversee external regulatory reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical surveys.
- Prepare monthly analyses and reports for inclusion in the quarterly Corporation Tax packs for the Group Tax team. Ensure the monthly Corporation Tax accrual is posted, and the provision is accurate. Collaborate with the Group Tax team on the preparation of the annual corporation tax return, providing necessary support and resolving any queries.
- Supervise the Financial Accountant.
- Manage, audit, and validate the monthly PSA reports produced by the Financial Accountant, ensuring they are ready for the annual PSA return. Ensure the provision is adequate and properly accounted for. Build relationships with key stakeholders involved in the PSA process.
- Oversee the preparation, analysis, and production of Group VAT Returns, including the Netherlands and Irish VAT returns. Ensure the Tax Financial Accountant completes monthly accounting, analysis, reporting, and reconciliations. Review, audit, and validate their work to ensure compliance with VAT legislation and company policy. Work with the wider business to make necessary adjustments to transactions.
- In collaboration with the Financial Tax & Treasury Manager, communicate and advise commercial teams and the wider business on updates to Tax and VAT governance, their implications, and address any related queries.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience with Dynamics 365.
- Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Qualified (ACCA, ACA, CTA) or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a financial accounting role with tax experience.
- Strong communication skills.
