Gleeson Recruitment Group are working exclusively in partnership with one of the most well-known brands in the West Midlands, a true heritage UK brand. They are looking to recruit a Group Financial Reporting Manager, due to internal growth within the team.

It would be the perfect role for a technically minded accountant, who is looking for their first role outside of practice, or for a 2nd mover with some industry experience.

Key responsibilities for the Group Financial Reporting Manager role:

Financial Statement Preparation:

Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with relevant reporting standards and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.

Internal Controls:

Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
Continuously assess and enhance control procedures to meet evolving business needs.

Process Optimisation:

Streamline financial reporting processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
Implement best practices to enhance the quality and speed of financial reporting.

Team Leadership:

Manage and mentor a high-performing financial reporting team.
Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.

Qualifications and experience required for the position:

Recognised accountancy qualification - ACA or ACCA
Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
