Our client is a dynamic and high growth divisional business operating within the Construction Industry and forming part of a £1.2bn turnover and highly acquisitive Group.
As part of the companies continued growth, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a No 1 in Finance for the divisional business unit to work closely with the Divisional MD and play a key role as part of the SLT.
With the group having a pre-existing SSC for the transactional finance, the bias of this position is more commercial and management accounting working closely with the operational business unit to drive improvement and growth.
This position offers a good level of hybrid working however does also require some travel across operational business units based within the West Midlands, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire
Overview
The successful applicant will be a key member of the SLT, responsible for preparing and submitting the financial results of the business to the Group and for the successful running of the company finance function.
Reportable to the Divisional Finance Director and Managing Director, you will lead and manage the finance team in their day-to-day activities and generally oversee the financial activities of the company.
The role:
- Working as a key member of the SLT, play a key part in deciding the strategic direction of the business
- Ensure month-end activities are completed on time and exceptions are reported immediately to all relevant stakeholders
- Produce a Management pack for the business overall and by branch
- Support the Managing Director in providing commentary on monthly and YTD performance
- Support in the preparation of the annual budget and ongoing P&L forecasting
- Identify, evolve and report KPIs
- Co-ordinate the year-end Audit Process, preparing relevant schedules and supporting evidence to the Group audit team
- Form strong relationships with the central accounts / SSC team who manage day to day accounts payable and credit control activities to ensure the smooth running of outsourced activities
- Maintain and develop internal control systems with support of Divisional Finance team including being responsible for the balance sheet
- Seek to continuously improve processes and knowledge across the business
The ideal candidate will ideally be formally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) and have PQE gained within a similar role with demonstrated experience across Management Accounting, Commercial Accounting, Business Partnering.
Experience gained within the Construction / Contracting Industry to include (CIS) and Domestic Reverse Charge (DRC) is desirable but not essential.
