HAYS are delighted to be partnering with Birmingham City Council to recruit a Head of Income Management to lead and transform their income management operations. This is a pivotal role within the team's new structure, reporting directly to the Finance Programme Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all banking activities, treasury management, and card payment systems across all council assets. This role is paying between £600-£800 per day (inside IR35), and the successful candidate will be based in the office once a week.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
- Lead and manage all banking activities and treasury management.
- Oversee and rationalise all transactions and the treasury model, including everyday banking and cash handling.
- Ensure compliance with all legislation related to anti-money laundering and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
- Implement and manage card payment systems.
- Work through and improve less-than-perfect setups with a structured approach.
In order to be successful in this role:
- Relevant finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, CCAB or AAT)
- Strong cash management background.
- Experience in leading transformation programmes.
- Proven experience in a chief cashier role or similar.
- Ability to hit the ground running in a dynamic and challenging environment.
