SF Recruitment is currently working with a fantastic public sector body in the recruitment of an interim Head of Finance (6 month FTC). The Head of Finance, reporting into the Director of Finance will lead the finance team. This includes responsibility for: reporting and management accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable and the business partnering function. This is a great opportunity with a highly regarded and flexible organisation. Key tasks: - Develop processes and other ways of working to ensure the smooth running of the finance department and the wider organisation. - Transform current processes and controls, such they are fit for purpose and future proof. - Productive and efficient team delivering clearly understood strategic and day to day objectives. - Develop the team, as well as the key controls and processes within the team, such that what the team produces is timely, accurate and fit for purpose, enabling the organisation to operate effectively. - Timely and accurate production of management accounts and other regular monthly reporting, such that they give a full financial understanding of performance and enable appropriate decisions to be    made. - Develop and maintain a culture of Continuous Improvement and excellent Customer Service within the finance function - Implementation of financial policy development - Compliance with financial governance and financial risk management requirements - Effective systems and structures for budgets and accounts including coordination and integration of finance and other key information systems - Successful year-end production of statutory accounts, ensuring the accounts are robust, accurate and compliant with organisational policies, accounting standards and any other regulatory    requirements. - Successful external audit of the financial statements - Deputises for the Director of Finance and Procurement, including supporting delivering key priorities as required. - Effective budgeting and financial forecasting processes - Clear direction for finance business partnering across the organisation including strategic financial advice to budget holders, building strong relationships and capacity within budget holders (including   developing and presenting finance training) - Annual Practicing Fee setting and budget processes are completed in line with agreed timescales - Agreed recommendations from internal and external audit activity are implemented on a timely basis - Oversee Cash Flow forecasting and provide recommendations on treasury management to the Director of Finance and Procurement Please get in touch if this sounds of interest.
