Tax Advisory Manager

We are seeking a Tax Advisory Manager to join an Independant Accountancy Practice firm in Birmingham. This role involves significant responsibility, including client interaction, team management, and staying updated with tax legislation. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and meticulous professional with a strong background in personal and corporate tax rules and team management.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Communicate with clients regarding general queries and ensure accurate information is provided, keeping Directors informed as necessary.
  • Research and discuss complex tax issues with other Tax Managers or the Senior Manager to ensure correct advice is given.
  • Act as the first point of call for clients after the Directors, ensuring a professional image of the firm is maintained.
  • Prepare and review tax reports for clients, discussing fees for ad-hoc work in advance.
  • Ensure billing is done timely, adhering to normal billing cycles or as agreed with clients for ad-hoc work.
  • Assist the Senior Tax Manager in developing systems and handling department-related matters.
  • Build a network of professional contacts to enhance the firm's reputation and client base.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Chartered Tax Adviser / Practitioner or QBE.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and handling complex tax issues.
  • Excellent knowledge of personal and corporate tax rules and ability to stay updated with new tax legislation.
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills and ideally experience with IRIS.
