Tax Compliance Senior Manager

We are seeking a Tax Compliance Senior Manager to join a fantastic forward thinking Independant Accountancy Practice Firm. This role is based in Birmingham, with occasional travel to other offices in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will report directly to the Tax Compliance Director and will play a key role in managing our tax compliance team, focusing on people management and strategic growth.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage and lead a team of 5, focusing on performance, development, and team dynamics.
  • Actively contribute to Senior Manager meetings and be proactive in the tax department.
  • Ensure compliance with all professional and regulatory requirements and contribute to the design of the firm's procedures, systems, and regulations.
  • Communicate with clients regarding general queries and ensure accurate and confident responses.
  • Prepare and review tax reports for clients, manage billing, and monitor work in progress.
  • Enhance client relationships and maintain a professional image of the firm.
  • Oversee department staffing, training requirements, and recruitment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Chartered Tax Adviser/Practitioner or QBE.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of personal tax rules and ability to stay updated with tax legislation.
  • Strategic skills with a focus on profitability and growth.
  • Proven experience in people management, with a focus on managing a team of 5.
