A leading financial services institution is seeking a VP Internal Audit (Manager) to join its UK Internal Audit function. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls across a range of business activities.

As the VP Internal Audit, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, in-depth analysis and insight into key business areas. You will be involved in risk-based audit reviews, assessing controls, audit management and making recommendations that enhance operational efficiency. This role will allow you to work closely with senior management and business functions, ensuring robust internal processes across personal finance, retail banking, and corporate support functions.

- Lead or support risk-based audit assignments, ensuring compliance with audit methodologies and regulatory standards.
- Provide expert analysis and recommendations to enhance governance, risk, and control processes across key business areas.
- Conduct continuous monitoring and risk assessments, ensuring alignment with audit plans and business objectives.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, offering insights that drive improvements in processes and risk management.
- Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to their professional development.
- Assist with data analytics initiatives, supporting the development of tools and methodologies within the audit function.
Profile
- Professional audit or finance qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA) with knowledge of UK regulations applicable to retail banking, personal finance, and corporate functions.
- Proven experience in internal or external audits within financial services, banking, or FS consulting.
- Strong understanding of audit methodologies, risk assessments, and governance frameworks.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex processes and recommend improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge and influence at all levels.
- Knowledge or experience in data analytics is desirable.
